What do we mean by ‘vulnerable’?
Some people may need extra support. This could be because of:
- Physical or mental health challenges
- A recent loss or change in circumstances
- Difficulty understanding written or spoken information
- Financial challenges or pressure
- A language barrier or unfamiliarity with property terms
- Exclusionary factors – whether that’s feeling less comfortable with tech or just lacking experience with house sales
- Legal or caring responsibilities, like managing a sale through Power of Attorney
You might not see yourself as vulnerable. And that’s okay. For us, it’s not about labelling – it’s about listening. If anything feels difficult for you, we’ll adapt to make it easier.
How we support you
When you get in touch with us – whether it’s a phone call, a form, or an email – we’re paying attention. If we think you might need a little more time, clarity, or support, here’s what we’ll do:
- We’ll slow things down. No rush, no pressure. You can take as long as you need.
- We’ll explain things clearly. No jargon, no complicated language. Just honest, straightforward info.
- We’ll check in. We’ll ask if everything makes sense – and if it doesn’t, we’ll go over it again.
- We’ll offer different formats. Want the info in writing? By video? In large print? Just ask – we’re happy to help.
- We’ll involve the right people. If you’d prefer to have a trusted friend or family member with you, we can speak to them too (with your permission).
- We’ll respect your preferences. However you prefer to communicate, we’ll make a note so every team member is on the same page.
We also keep careful notes – not to tick boxes, but to make sure your journey with us feels smooth, consistent, and personalised, no matter who you speak to.
